Hey there parents!
This week we continued in our Social Media series and we tackled Twitter! We discussed how many times we're pressured to follow certain "trends" in this world and we still follow them even though we know they are not good for us. I challenged the students to "not follow the trend, but to set the trend". Often times we think that we need to be popular to set trends, but that is not true! We all (whether we like it or not) have influence in the people around us. In our schools. Family. Friends. Everywhere around us! Romans chapter 12 challenges us "not to conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." It goes on to tell us what "trends" we should set for others: Love sincerely, hate what is evil, be devoted to each other, honor one another, be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, share with those in need, and the list just keeps going (Romans 12:9-21).
My hope is that these become trends that we not only model on social media, but in our real lives. Let's build each other up in godly things, rather than worldly things.
